As a guide, we offer same day delivery to Jamisontown for orders placed Monday to Saturday, if placed by 2pm. All school deliveries will be delivered before 3pm. Jamisontown is a riverside suburb located 56 kilometres west of Sydney's central business district, in the Greater Western Sydney region. The suburb is found on the eastern banks of the Nepean River, between Penrith to the north and Regentville to the south. Jamisontown is largely a residential suburb, but also features a significant commercial district in its east.
The original inhabitants of the area that makes up Jamisontown today were the Mulgoa people, who spoke the Darug language. Following European settlement, in 1805, the Surgeon-General of the Colony of New South Wales, Thomas Jamison, was granted a large landholding on the banks of the Nepean River. The suburb was the departure point for the first cross-country flight in Australia in 1911. Formerly a rural district, land was subdivided and developed in the 1960s, and in 1976, Jamisontown was officially gazetted as a suburb.
Tench Reserve lies along the suburb's Nepean riverbank and is a popular recreational spot for picnics and outdoor exercise. Jamisontown features a large commercial district in its south and east, and is home to the Penrith Ice Palace - an ice sports and public skate centre.
